  • Notebook data: Your bookmarks, folder structures, widget configurations, and page layouts — synced to our servers when cloud sync is enabled.
  • Uploaded assets: Custom images (backgrounds, stickers, GIFs) you upload to your personal Store library.
  • Preferences: Theme settings, language preference, and layout configuration stored locally and synced with your account.
  • Usage analytics: Anonymous page views and feature usage (no personally identifiable information). We use privacy-focused, cookieless analytics.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Sync your notebooks and settings across devices.
  • Enforce plan limits and manage subscriptions.
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, subscription updates).
  • Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the product.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers located in Europe. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Database backups are encrypted and retained for disaster recovery.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Authentication: Better Auth (self-hosted) — your credentials never leave our servers.
  • Bookmark collections: Bookmark.quest provides AI-curated bookmark collections available in the Store.
  • Analytics: Privacy-focused analytics (cookieless, no personal data collected).

5. Cookies

CozyDen uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Our analytics are cookieless by design.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: View all data associated with your account.
  • Export: Download your data in a portable format from your account settings.
  • Delete: Permanently delete your account and all associated data from your account settings.
  • Rectify: Update your personal information at any time.

Deletion requests are processed immediately. Backup copies are purged within 30 days.

7. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: Data is retained for the lifetime of your account.
  • Deleted accounts: Personal data is deleted immediately. Backup copies are purged within 30 days.
  • Server logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.

8. Children's Privacy

CozyDen is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
